The engine may start without pressing the clutch pedal
The engine may not start at all if the clutch pedal is not pressed
The clutch may not disengage when the pedal is pressed
The check engine light may illuminate.
Faulty clutch pedal position switch
Corroded or damaged wiring in the clutch pedal switch circuit
Loose or disconnected electrical connections in the clutch pedal switch circuit
Failed powertrain control module (PCM)
Clutch Pedal Switch: Clutch Pedal switch is responsible for engaging the clutch plates when the clutch lever is pressed. Problems lead to inefficient clutch operation & difficulty in gear shifting
Replace the faulty clutch pedal position switch
Inspect and repair any corroded or damaged wiring in the clutch pedal switch circuit
Check and tighten any loose or disconnected electrical connections in the circuit
Replace the powertrain control module (PCM) if necessary
