Transmission Shift Sensor: Gear Shift Sensor communicates the position the gear shifted to. Problems lead to difficulty in shifting gears
Inspect and replace any faulty transmission solenoids or valves associated with the 5
6 shift
Repair or replace damaged or worn transmission gears or synchronizers for the 5th and 6th gears
Check and adjust the shift linkage or cables, and repair or replace if necessary
Ensure the transmission fluid is at the proper level and replace if contaminated
Test and replace the transmission control module (TCM) if it is determined to be faulty
