Description:

  • Problem in shifting from low to high gear

Possible Symptoms:

  • Transmission failure

  • Gear slippage

  • Traction control malfunction light may blink or stay illuminated

  • Overheating engine

  • The vehicle will not start, or may lose power and stall, if the fuel gets too hot and boils off

Possible Causes:

  • A defective skip shift solenoid

  • A defective skip shift relay, fuse, or actuator

  • Connector or wiring damage or short

  • Installation of an aftermarket skip shift bypass (disables the upshift solenoid control circuit)

Possible Solutions:
