Failure of the clutch position sensor
An open or short in the clutch position sensor circuit
A misadjusted clutch position sensor (often after replacement)
A loose or corroded connector or damaged wiring within the clutch position sensor circuit
A failed PCM (rare)
Clutch Position Sensor: A clutch position sensor monitors the position of the clutch pedal. Problems lead to inefficient clutch operations & difficulty in gear shifting
Perform a visual inspection of the wiring and connectors to check for corrosion or loose connections
Check for voltage on the switch's input side
Check for continuity between the fuse and the reverse input switches input circuit
