P0794

2017-10-10

Description:

  • The fault code P0794 indicates that there is an intermittent circuit fault detected in the intermediate shaft speed sensor. This may cause the transmission to shift erratically or not at all.

Possible Symptoms:

  • Erratic shifting or failure to shift

  • Illuminated check engine light

  • Reduced fuel efficiency

  • Slipping or delayed transmission engagement

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty intermediate shaft speed sensor

  • Loose or corroded electrical connections in the circuit

  • Damaged wiring or wiring harness

  • Faulty transmission control module (TCM)

Related Parts:

  • Shaft Speed Sensor: Shaft Speed Sensor monitors the speed with which the gear shaft is rotated. Problem leads to reduced performance, poor acceleration

Possible Solutions:

  • Replace the intermediate shaft speed sensor

  • Check and repair any damaged wiring or connections in the circuit

  • Clean and tighten any loose or corroded electrical connections

  • Replace the transmission control module (TCM) if necessary
