Description:

  • ECM (car computer) not able to read ignition coil signals, and thus may not be able to do its job properly

Possible Symptoms:

  • Poor fuel economy

  • Engine knock on acceleration

  • Displays an intermittent stumble or miss

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty Ignition/Distributor engine speed sensor

  • Faulty crankshaft position sensor

  • Ignition/Distributor engine speed sensor harness is open or shorted

  • Ignition/Distributor engine speed sensor circuit poor electrical connection

  • Low battery charge

  • Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
