Description:

  • ECM (car computer) not able to read Check Engine Light or MIL lamp signals, and thus may not be able to do its job properly

Possible Symptoms:

  • The transmission not shifting in or out of a particular gear

  • Engine hesitation

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty Malfunction Indicator Lamp Bulb

  • Malfunction Indicator Lamp Bulb harness is open or shorted

  • Malfunction Indicator Lamp Bulb circuit poor electrical connection

  • Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
