P0539

2017-10-10

Description:

  • The fault code P0539 indicates that there is an intermittent issue with the circuit that controls the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor. This may cause the A/C system to malfunction or not work at all.

Possible Symptoms:

  • A/C system not working or working intermittently

  • Illuminated A/C warning light

  • Reduced cooling performance from the A/C system

  • Unusual noises coming from the A/C system.

Possible Causes:

  • Loose or corroded electrical connections in the circuit

  • Failed A/C refrigerant pressure sensor

  • Faulty wiring or connections in the circuit

  • Failed engine control module (ECM)

Related Parts:

  • A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor: Prevents the air conditioning refrigerant from becoming too cold. Problems lead to reduced AC cooling

Possible Solutions:

  • Check and repair any damaged wiring or connections

  • Tighten or clean any loose or corroded electrical connections

  • Replace the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor if necessary

  • Replace the engine control module (ECM) if necessary
