P0419

2017-10-10

Description:

  • The fault code P0419 indicates that there is a malfunction in the secondary air injection system relay B circuit. This may cause the vehicle to produce higher emissions or fail to meet emissions requirements.

Possible Symptoms:

  • Illuminated check engine light

  • Failed emissions test

  • Rough engine running

  • Reduced engine power or acceleration

Possible Causes:

  • Damaged or faulty secondary air injection system relay B

  • Open or short circuit in the wiring of secondary air injection system relay B

  • Failed engine control module (ECM)

  • Poor electrical connections

Related Parts:

  • Exhaust Pipe Air Injection: Air is injected into the exhaust gases for better combustion of unburnt fuel and pollutants. This allows better exhaust emission. Problems lead to harmful emissions out of limit

Possible Solutions:

  • Replace damaged or faulty secondary air injection system relay B

  • Check and repair any open or short circuit in secondary air injection system relay B wiring

  • Tighten or clean any loose or corroded electrical connections

  • Replace the engine control module (ECM) if necessary
