Description:

  • Timing for injecting fuel is incorrect

Possible Symptoms:

  • A slow or no start condition

  • Gear may not shift properly

  • Gear shifting problems

  • Transmission may go into limp mode

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty camshaft position sensor

  • Faulty crankshaft position sensor

  • Faulty powertrain control module

  • Damaged wiring associated with the fuel injection control circuit

Related Parts:

  • Fuel Pump: The fuel pump takes fuel from the fuel tank and delivers it to the engine. Problems in this car's fuel pump may lead to engine misfire, poor fuel economy & poor acceleration

Possible Solutions:

  • Check the coolant level and inspecting the cooling system for any obvious damages such as cracks and leaks

  • If no obvious issues are found, run a cooling system pressure test to help locate any leaks that may exist. A leak found during this test should be repaired before any further diagnosis may take place

  • If no leaks are found in the cooling system, check the operation of the electric cooling fans or fan clutch. If the electric fan is inoperative, the fuse, relay or fan itself may require replacement
